Additional Troops, Tank Deployment in East Ladakh: India constructs 3D-Printed Permanent Defense Shelter
Amid Chinese buildup, Indian Army built infra for 450 tanks, 22,000 additional troops in Eastern Ladakh, as per report.
3D-printed permanent defences have been constructed for first time by Indian Army’s Corps of Engineers in desert sector. These defences were trial tested against a range of weapons from small arms to the main gun of T90 tank, said Indian Army’s Engineer-in-Chief Lt Gen Harpal Singh reported by ANI.
Lt Gen H Singh further said, these are able to withstand blasts, can be erected within 36-48 hours, & can be relocated from one place to another. With this, trial for similar permanent defences have also been carried out at eastern Ladakh & found to be useful.
Meanwhile today in G20 summit, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chinese President Xi Jinping, who were both attending the G20 Dinner hosted by the Indonesian President, exchanged courtesies at the conclusion of the dinner, sources said.
As per reports, a 3D-printed shelter for Officers & JCOs living has been constructed in the desert sector and four more such double-storey shelters are also being constructed in the Eastern Theatre. They can accommodate 64 personnel and construction will take just 25 days.
